I’ve met Bari. She’s smart and charming and I can utterly see why a bunch of tech CEOs find her the perfect parabolic array to focus their insecurities and grievances, to reassure them that their instincts are not just right but *smart.*

Anyway she has no business running a news division.

By the time Tor Top’s mother was sick with cholera, the nearby clinic had been shuttered for two weeks.

He bundled her into a rented canoe and paddled toward the nearest hospital, eight hours away.

Less than halfway into the journey, his mother died.
Trump Officials Celebrated With Cake After Slashing Aid. Then People Died of Cholera.
Behind closed doors in Washington, top advisers made a series of decisions that had devastating repercussions for the poorest country on earth. We went to South Sudan and found people who died as a re...

While we stand by the reporting in our 60 Minutes piece about El Salvador's CECOT mega-prison, it was missing crucial information—specifically about how woke campus protestors would benefit from a few weeks there to see how good they have it.

"The decision was made after Bari Weiss, the new editor in chief of CBS News, requested numerous changes to the segment."

Fwiw I think the “apologize for being white” thing is very clearly about making sure white people don’t feel an obligation to alleviate past injustices or make society fairer. Ultimately to do that you have to raise taxes and the billionaires holding Vance’s leash don’t want that.

Censoring a story about the outsourced regime gulag is not consistent with freedom of speech. But it is consistent with the belief that “free speech” is when conservatives can say what they want and when you can say what they want.

Hilarious. The second any Republican publicly disagrees with Trump about something he attacks them & goes after them. Has primaried dozens. Calls Greene a traitor. Attacked Indiana Repubs. This entire movement is viciously vindictive against anyone who dares to step out of line.

In the summer of 1950 most US newspapers ran an AP story about how race had become the main issue in the upcoming Georgia governor's race. Segregationist Herman Tallmadge, governor from '47 to '55 and then a Senator until 1981 made a name for himself by refusing to "apologize for being a white man."
