Predictable and preventable problem. The city should act immediately to fix the streetcar network
I knew street car bunching was an issue in Toronto, but seven (7) trains back-to-back on Richmond St. is crazy! Might as well just replace the lane with a super long moving walkway like in airports. 🥲

Not every house is nice, not every condo is nice. Build homes that people actually want to live in!
I hate when people talk about “dog crate condos” or “shoebox condos” as if small places can’t be good homes for individuals, couples, and many small families.

We can talk about also enabling larger family-sized units without snobbishly denigrating people’s homes for not being big enough.
Exactly. That is why commentators need to stop whining about "dog crates condos" (Ron Butler) or "shoeboxes condos." A housing market needs to provide housing for every station of one's life, especially after graduation.

That’s so cool! Montreal’s bike share system is rolling out trailers that work on BIXIs as well as personal bikes.

They’re hoping to have 50 by the end of the summer, and hundreds over the next few years.

Once again regretting taking the TTC instead of cycling to work. Transit should not be 30 min slower and significantly less enjoyable than a bike

transportation services, under pressure of some councillors and their tendencies, just released their recommendation to cut half of the transit priority lanes planned for bathurst and dufferin.

dedicated lanes between bloor & eglinton on both streets are wiped from the plan, kneecapping the project

Urban Toronto is SO great. Super useful for research about city history

Remove transit priority: quick and easy

Install transit priority: years of consultation
Transit Riders, vulnerable road users, welcome to more cars on King Street. Hope you like our gift. You’re Welcome!

How the TTC is reminding you to not pass open streetcar doors
The TTC is launching a six-week campaign to improve safety for transit riders when they board and exit a streetcar.

I would be sympathetic if this wasn't a daily experience in Toronto
Great I just waited 15 min for a bus which outside the station for 15 min and then left without letting anyone on

It's a depressing time in Toronto - a city that once had the continent's most ambitious city-building initiative.

This transformation had 3 KEY PILLARS:
1. RapidTO
2. GO Expansion
3. Ontario Line

Two pillars have been watered down beyond recognition - DEVASTATING for the region. Here's why: 1/🧵

#4 is a good reminder. 5 years from now, GO would have been European level. There is so much to be improved!
1) there is a rising tide
2) the lack of a specific plan about how many trains and what type of trains are going to go to different places is fatal
3) metrolinx needs to unite its staff around frequent all day transit
4) We should not be arrogant, our system is not good yet

The TTC is (and has) done a very poor job retaining choice riders over the last few years

BikeshareTO's ebikes to the rescue again!
Would be nice if the TTC warned riders that the subway is down before they pay a non-refundable fare

I think you could make a strong case that BikeShareTO is the biggest public service success of Toronto in the 21st century?
Yesterday there were approximately 31,408 Toronto Bikeshare bikeshare trips
Most used station: Centre Island Ferry Dock (422 trips)
Least used station: Scarborough Village Park and 62 others (0 trips)
Active stations: 893
