Amateurs debate Goku vs. Superman.

Experts debate Popeye vs. Saitama.
Day 335. 2025 has been one of the worst years in my life, in a quiet sort of way. No reason to be surprised that the final month is starting out in a mildly shitty (potentially quite shitty) manner.

1) Read five chapters of Call of the Night.

2) Watched some YouTube videos.
3) Read five chapters of Call of the Night.

Or they just don’t care that these arguments are not hypothetical what-ifs but actual decisions that affect the actual lives of actual human beings.
this is why the biggest group of people who keep getting rolled by the right are the legal/academic types. "surely they have a legit argument here and they arent trying to undermine the fundamentals of american society. [beat] aw dang it i guess they are."

Okay, I also just realized another way this is stupid: we only talk about floors in relation to interior spaces. If you're outside you say 'ground.' Walls and ceilings are implied in the image the word 'floor' conjures. To say 'There's a floor but no ceiling' is to imply a half-finished structure.
Yeah, no. 'Make America Great Again' isn't a metaphor or analogy, it's a direct call to action. You say it, people know what you mean even if the specific details ('again' referring to when, how do we measure this 'greatness'?) are fuzzy.

'Strong Floor, No Ceiling' needs at best a couple seconds...
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

Bleh. Not liking how today is going so far.

Especially after how good I was feeling last night. Now I gotta slog through another day at work. Hopefully it’ll be slow. Finally finish catching up on last week’s manga.

Pedestrians have the right of way, robots don’t.

Also: who would order from a place knowing their food was only safe as far as an ottoman-sized robot can make its journey without getting lost, stuck or running across bored kids?
Just as you thought food delivery companies couldn't inflict any more misery on society:

Instead of using lowly-paid gig economy contractors to deliver groceries, they're replacing humans with robots, who, in turn, force humans off the pavement into road traffic.

Back to work. Knocking on wood right now, hopefully today won’t be a nightmare. We’re down a person, I’ll be by myself for the first three hours.

Anime theory:

Call of the Night and DanDaDan take place in the same universe. Kinta and Love Green are cousins.

I have had a fucked up sleep schedule all week because of this issue, trying to take care of writing obligations but only managing to finish them at the last minute day after day.
Why am i like this indeed.

That feeling when you're starting to dive into a property or wider array of related works and you're really excited to explore everything and it's all new and fresh to you...

...but at the same time you recognize your enthusiasm will die down sooner or later. The high cannot last.

Something on my mind lately:

Garfield is a vulgar, shameless sellout.

Snoopy is a sellout that's managed to retain his dignity and chill.

Calvin and Hobbes are anti-sellouts.

Heathcliff would sell out if offered the opportunity, but has been gifted the fortune of finding hipness without trying.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

Between this and the review linked below I’m glad to see I’m not the only one with serious issues about OBAA.

It’s not a bad movie, IMO, but my issues preclude calling it one of the best of the year.

Black Friday deal on HBO Max, 3 bucks a month for a year.

So so so so so tempted... 36 dollars across one year would be easy to justify with just a few movies and TV shows (as I calculate things).

It is damn impressive that the Pilgrims managed to travel all the way around the tip of South America to come to America on the west coast.

Not to get up my own ass about this, but does anyone think Elon Musk - a guy who talks about comedy so often - knows anything about the art of comedy or the history of comedy outside of what has been around in his lifetime?

Like, he's talking about roasting people here. What are the odds...
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Whelp. While I dithered about it a little I ultimately came to the choice I always knew I would make: I’ve reupped my Disney+ subscription.

That this comes right after they announced the use of genAI slop in the future twists the knife a little, but I am Disney’s bitch.

At least for the next year.
