if you care about other people or have any sort of moral or ethical lines which you refuse to cross, eventually you get fired or froze out or just stop getting promoted, & that's why everyone at the top is an evil brainless sack of shite

capitalism filters the most short-sighted and cruel members of society to the positions of greatest power, those qualities being necessary for prioritizing short-term shareholder value over less important things like the planet not going on fire

i know i'm a "purpose of a system is what it does" kinda guy, but functionally speaking, it does feel like universities have two roles in modern society:

That a dude with a couple cameras and a plate of appetizers can make something worth $82.5 million and a media company looks at that and goes "couldn't we make even more money if we had AI do it?" tells you exactly how stupid these people are
The $82.5 million sale of "Hot Ones" studio First We Feast is part of a broader strategy at BuzzFeed to shift away from human editors, writers and content producers in favor of artificial intelligence, which result in "high-margin, tech-enabled revenue lines."

Me preocupan mucho los estándares de belleza que la sociedad exige hoy en día a sus asesinos de CEOs. No quiero que los niños crezcan pensando que no son lo bastante guapos como para matar a millonarios.
