It's law, it's policy, it's completely mandated. I see no reason to think "religious left revival" is a rebuttal to this.

The thing about “social and moral views” is that they’re usually also intensely economic issues. What Trump is doing to trans people will ruin millions of people’s lives and livelihoods. It’s a massive attempt at value extraction and immiseration.

Fundamentally this is not a way to govern but to merely appease a moving target that doesn’t know what it wants. Also how did the public get those moral and social views? Did they just come from thin air? Constantly shifting your values to align with public opinion is nonsensical.
I think a really underrated idea for Democrats would be to to try:
(a) Study public opinion accurately
(b) Adopt views, especially on social and moral values issues that align with public opinion
Or they can try this.
