It's maddening that liberals are still trying to fight fascism with rhetoric, moral appeals, claims of hypocrisy, mockery, and by working within the system. The fascists don't care. They're not playing your political games anymore. They control the system and they're actively using it to crush you.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

This one has really struck a chord.

Every government treated physician supply as someone else’s problem, until it became everyone’s.

It’s not cowardice: it’s disdain. She’s not scared of teachers (or Albertans in general); she just thinks they don’t matter.

Treat her like the arrogant, entitled, disrespectful, petty tyrant that she it.
Danielle Smith is a coward.

She refused to negotiate in good faith with teachers, refused to end this strike by offering a fair deal, and, worst of all, she violated Albertans’ Charter rights without even showing up for debate.

Hey Albertans it’s time to strike. Hear me out: we all want reasonable class sizes, but the conservatives don’t care. Shut down your workplace for a day and put a sign on the door: “we are on strike today to support reasonable class sizes.”

Vance, Trump, and Bondi each said things yesterday that were horrifying on their own. Taken together, a very clear roadmap for the future emerges

Trump is actively preparing a large-scale crackdown on left-wing dissent. The threat of widescale repression is no longer abstract; it is imminent

The housing crisis in Canada can be traced back to Mulroney and Chrétien's policies that transformed the housing market from “human necessity” to an investment for the wealthy—an era that shifted Canada towards neoliberalism and near-permanent austerity.

I am endlessly baffled by anti-immigration rhetoric.

I am the product of nearly 300 years of immigration into the Americas- what possible right do I have to say that new people can’t come?

Germany has a salt-and-air battery that could change renewable energy storage. Unlike lithium-ion batteries, which rely on expensive and limited resources, this new design uses common salt and oxygen to store energy. It can last for decades without losing capacity and is completely recyclable.

I've already sent up the bat signal to stu.We OBVIOUSLY need bagpipes. Maybe he could throw a couple drums in the trunk for you and me.

Can the shouting down of the fascists include a bagpipe lesson, @stuthefarmer.bsky.social ? Great opportunity to make some noise and learn a new skill.
@tonyjeglum.bsky.social Perhaps we should make this an unholy trinity event. First we shout down the fascists then we get cocktails.

To some degree, I think the Democrats ARE the bigger evil. The bigger evil is the alternative that doesn't alternate, it's the people selling hope of doing better only to crush it, and who will always prefer to fold before "the bigger evil" than lose their spot as its alternative.
Am I a moron for not wanting that? Am I a genocide-excusing party shill for hoping we could find some way to avert the famines, plagues, and wars to come as billions find themselves displaced and fighting over dwindling resources?

Maybe I am. I dunno. 11/🧵
