By the time the 2026 elections roll around, people opposed to Trump will have no idea who to trust

Trump & GOP will spend the next 2 years focused on fracturing their political opposition

I predict that GOP will gain seats in House & Senate in 2026

It will be 100% psy-op and sowing distrust

The load-bearing myth at the heart of UK politics is that the politicians and media are tolerant and decent and working people are knuckle-dragging bigots, but it's actually completely the other way around.
A man on the streets of the UK is asked about the “problem of immigration” and dismantles talking points with ease.

Wages. They're trying to use it to solve having to pay wages.

Tomorrow, Minnesota will demonstrate that it is incapable of defending its democracy from the onslaught of organized money. The vote on the SAVE Act will be another dead canary in the coal mine.

Soon we will all be slaves to the dregs of the super-wealthy.

Democrats will never have power again. The GOP will gain seats in every election at every level in 2026.

Organized Money will make sure of it, and the conspiracy of arsonists they bought to fill up government will stop at nothing to ensure permanent Republican hegemony.

"When capitalism falls into crisis... its profound flaws generate popular fury... People are right to be enraged, but that anger is being redirected at all the wrong targets. Faith in democracy is crumbling because of a failed economic system"

Fascism in power in the 1930s brought the world to genocidal war. But memories have faded, as has the stigma attached to the far-right – and that’s dangerous, says Guardian columnist Owen Jones

John Roberts decided that money is speech, and that means only money speaks, and only money can speak.

Hijacking the courts is how they subjugated the justice system so they could install Trump. Now their conspiracy of kept judges is doing it again.

A complaint I have about Windows 11 is that Microsoft took the dumbest user's UX preferences and forced them all on me.

Every time I open a new part of the OS, I'm confronted with a fresh horror show of incredibly dumb things, half of which cannot be disabled.

What shithead did they make this for?

I would love to read a detailed story about this subject.
If any assignment editors are reading -- I bet a full accounting of all the financial support Elon Musk and his companies received from the federal government would make for great reading when he inevitably tells all the poors they have to start making sacrifices.

A billionaire talking about getting by with less is why we should have never gotten rid of guillotines
Here one of Elon Musk's lickspittles explains their plan: Persuade regular Americans to accept huge cuts to Social Security and Medicare so that billionaires can get gigantic tax cuts. I don't think they'll be able to pull it off, but we'll see.

I have a sports metaphor story for this!

I have a younger brother who was a very competitive baseball player as a kid. Was on all the local travel & developmental squads.

One of his coaches had a very interesting and counterintuitive (to me) philosophy of the game, as it was played at that level.
This does not mean “don’t worry about it,” or even that “it’s just a distraction.”

It means fight, delay, push back, express doubt, and do anything you can to remind anyone who’ll listen that Trump and Trumpers threaten all sorts of things and hope you’ll jump out of the way.

Don’t forfeit.

This is a very dangerous path to go down

If the public accepts this hacker's unverified materials, that opens the door to accept whatever future hackers provide

And now that Trumpputin will be in power, most of the best-resourced hackers will be working to help villains destroy democracy
A hacker apparently has the Gaetz Report.

I'm sure Musk and MAGA will call this free speech, right, like the Hunter Biden laptop?

One thing I find interesting about the echo chamber complaint is that an echo chamber just won a presidential election.

Put aside the convo of whether it’s “good” or “bad” for a moment. The far right has devoted enormous resources + time to building echo chambers & loathes spaces they don’t control
The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.
