Super proud of Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team. It was a hard fought championship match that didn’t end their way, but their performance during this tournament has been outstanding.

What a highlight for Canadian women athletes on a world stage.

Absolute embarrassment.

I do note some people coming out recently quite keen to say

"You can't call them a facicist it doesn't meet the definition"

Or

" You can't call it a genocide it doesn't meet the definition"

Yet folks are a little shy when it comes to the definition of communist.
Just saw a video of Bill Maher calling Mamdani a “straight up communist” and I continue to be struck by the depiction of policies associated with the New Deal Order as far-left extremism, which goes along with a refusal to depict Trump’s unprecedented authoritarian actions as far-right extremism.

You only have to look to the UK to see how a center-left party tacking right plays out.

First core values are traded away on the promise that it'll stop the fascists, then the result is so deeply unpopular it makes the fascists stronger as well.
Every person who said 'states rights' wanted Black people excluded from public life. Every person who thought it was reasonable sounding and did not know that was being fooled.

When they say "no trans athletes" they are setting the stage for no trans people everywhere. It's already playing out.

Waiting for news outlets and reporters to acknowledge that maybe, just maybe, reporting Trump's social media posts on foreign policy without confirmation is deeply irresponsible and an embarrassing failure of journalism.

political press is doing a real disservice by basically not reporting the nuances of public opinion on deportations, and creating the appearance that most americans support the stephen miller-style gestapo tactics
Should we deport people who have lived here for many years without committing any crimes? 61% no, 24% yes.

Should we should deport people as quickly as possible even if it means more mistakes, or do our best to make no mistakes even if it takes longer?

Quickly: 19%
Minimize mistakes: 74%

To one of Steve's points here, the annual 'leafs fans putting too much pressure on them' is an absolute piss take

Go see how players in other sports have to deal with pressure

Everton struggled with relegation recently!

I always thought that when the Line 3 Scarborough derailment was met with a quiet shrug to be utterly bizarre.

In England the media would have made a gold mine out of that.
Including anti bike lane stuff + kneecapping cities’ abilities to raise funds by making drivers untouchable in the budget of a province w 15 million people also happened this week. Ontario! A stupid sleeping numbnuts province. Prove me wrong!

Being a veteran leafs fan is having the good sense to know not to invest.

Don't go to that bar and splash $100 on food and drinks

Don't go to the actual game and waste a mortgage payment

Honestly don't give Rogers any money for sportsnet.

Until they make a conference final, leave it yeah?

It's either return to office or Pyongyang gets the bomb

They send their wages back to Pyongyang to help fund North Korea’s nuclear weapons and sanctions evasion. There are thousands of IT workers

I am proud of what immigrants like my mum and those across Luton North have given to our country. Many serve in our NHS, open biz, enrich culture/arts & much more.

The best way to avoid becoming an ‘island of strangers’ is investing in communities to thrive - not pitting people against each other.

I'm reminded of that recent polling from the states which showed plenty of Americans thinking it would be great if more Americans worked in factories, whilst also saying they themselves have no real interest in working in factories.
If I may be a little cruder, "The government should punch people in the dick" might poll at 60%, but people will still be angry at the government when their dicks hurt.
