It all started in 1955 with a misprint in a Colorado newspaper and a call to Col. Harry Shoup's secret military hotline. Shoup played along with the tiny voice who called, and a tradition was born. From the NPR archives.

In 1993, Trump signed a mortgage for a Florida home, pledging it would be his principal residence. Seven weeks later, he attested a neighboring property would also be his principal residence.

In reality, he does not seem to have lived in either home.

Who will want to go through the hassle of all this, just to visit the America? Trump obviously doesn’t want anyone to visit. Tourists just want to have fun, not to go through extremely invasive requirements.
Here's part of what the Trump administration is planning to demand from travelers from the EU, Japan, Britain etc that can normally get a low-hassle 90 tourist visa. Social media for the last 5 years, all personal & work email addresses... Expect equally odious rules if we visit there.

Trump’s National Security Strategy “abandons its allies, ignores clear threats, and treats national security as an extension of a domestic political struggle,” Thomas Wright argues.
A Strategy That Ignores the Real Threats
The administration’s new policy shows less concern for the American homeland than for building an illiberal world order.

We found that agents had detained >170 Americans this year. More than 20 citizens said they were held for at least a day without being able to contact a lawyer or their loved ones.

The corporate giants need to be broken up into smaller companies to produce competition to reduce the prices for consumers
If inflation comes up at the dinner table, don’t forget to draw attention to a deeper structural driver of high prices: corporate power.

Much of the food industry is dominated by a few corporate giants with the power to keep prices high because they face little competition.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.
