A fellow Scrivener user! Best $60 I've ever spent.
I used to think a diary wouldn't help me much, but I recently made a folder in Scrivener labeled "Thoughts" where I just rant about random shit, and it has been incredibly therapeutic.

10/10 get a diary.

For @samshirazi.bsky.social, @chaznuttycombe.bsky.social, Virginia's press corps and the rest of our most die-hard electoral data cruncher plugged into ELECT eight days later: you're welcome.

Accurate data is good. Precise data is best. Elect campaign reporters to office and you get. better. data.

As an election nerd, I applaud @pwcdanica.bsky.social for getting this bill passed in Virginia!
Also: I was annoyed provisional ballots weren't reallocated back to precincts like early in-person early ballots and mail-in absentee ballots (regular and PE), so we passed my bill SB 1044 this year to do that.
So now you can see provisional vote totals by precinct.

About fucking time!
Congresswoman @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social is FINALLY being sworn in as a member of the House!
November 12, 2025 at 9:25 PM
I don't recall a prior instance of a Member of Congress giving a floor speech immediately after being sworn-in, but the speech @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social just gave was one of the most important speeches in my lifetime.

The Trump Administration is giving preferential treatment in prison to a convicted sex trafficker with ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

This is a disgrace.

Important information for Seattle voters who voted in the mayoral election earlier this month.
This race could very easily be decided by challenged ballots. Use this link to track your ballot, and remind your friends and family to do the same: info.kingcounty.gov/kcelections/...

In Congress, I’ll never abandon my constituents or take Republicans at their word when they say they won’t do the thing that they clearly plan on doing.

But first I have to get there:

We’re not going to “fix the Democrats’ brand” by doing TikToks or launching pods. The brand is a direct reflection of our elected officials. If we want to purge our weak branding, we have to purge the weak Dems. I’m looking forward to a robust primary cycle and new Democrats who know how to fight.

NEW: Graham Platner says he's no John Fetterman. But he gets the concerns.

“Look, as somebody that was disappointed [with Fetterman]—if I was me looking in, I’d have the same concerns. We’ve been burned before.”

He explains why he’s different.

The Democratic Senate candidate said he understands why some may compare him to the Pennsylvania senator, but he told NBC News he's different — and wants to earn voters' trust.

This is likely the final nail in the coffin for the Democratic Party's existence as a major political party, even though it won't be widely regarded as such for several years after this stunning betrayal of the Democratic base.
JUST IN: Lawmakers reach deal to end government shutdown.

A test vote on Sunday marked a turning point in the monthlong stalemate.

I'll spoil the ending of it...Republicans won't hold the vote on ACA subsidies. They have proven repeatedly that they cannot negotiate in good faith.
Whatever else is in the deal, agreeing to merely have a vote on ACA is a fig leaf. Even if it passes the Senate, it won't in the House, which also makes it an easy yes vote for the Senate Rs who might want to, defusing it as an attack on them.

It is a stupid ask even on Team Schumer's own terms.
November 10, 2025 at 12:35 AM
The so-called "deal" to reopen the "government" includes no guarantee of ACA subsidies, no guarantee of @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social being rightfully sworn-in, and no guarantee of SNAP or any other funding being reinstating.

Senate Democrats betrayed us again, and we must #AbolishTheSenate!

This is the facility that I and many others have been protesting. We’ve been hit, thrown, gassed, and shot with pepper bullets but none of that holds a candle to what is being done to people *in* the actual facility.

Read this thread. Don’t look away. Keep your eyes and the pressure on Broadview.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Read this thread. This is what @katmabu.bsky.social was protesting, and why she repeatedly says getting beaten up by ICE outside is nothing compared to the torture and crimes being committed inside Broadview. These thugs must be held to account.
