Moore is one of those guys that, as a fan, you look at and want to believe is a dude you can root for and the right fit for the job. And then you watch the actions and nervously tug on your collar a bit. Then he gets fired for *this*, and you're not happy he's out, but you're not not-happy about it.
BREAKING: Michigan fired head football coach Sherrone Moore due to violation of university policy, the school announced.

An investigation found Moore had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, Michigan AD Warde Manuel said in a statement.

Measles is one example of a virus that can linger in the body after an individual recovers from an initial infection. It can then re-emerge years later potentially fatal consequences.

@viraldrmaggie.bsky.social explains why and how this happens on Public Health On Call.

Imagine, if you will, that NASA updated its website to suggest gravity might not exist, prompting CalTech and CERN to release statements saying, "With great sadness, we can no longer recommend listening to NASA."

This is what's happening in epidemiology.

Speaking of House GOP conference, when a group is in danger they pull together. But at a certain point the Titanic isn't "in danger"; it's sinking. And at that moment, one person looks at another and says, "I never liked you, BITCH!" and throws a punch. This seems like where we are in the House.

Some people doomsday prep by stocking up on canned goods. It's become clear to me this year (and as I click Buy on a used collection of OG Star Trek soundtrack CDs), that my version is acquiring all the physical media I can and backing up the shit out of it.

A movie that takes place where you're from.

Not my hometown, but not far off. And GPB still an all-time top 5-10 movie for me that came out just a few years before my 10-year reunion. Love everything about it.

Literacy is quickly becoming a tool only the rich will possess through private education. Without literacy, developing critical thinking skills is more difficult, especially in a world where most people get information, factual or not, from easily manipulated video.

They lied about it. All of it. A thug cop shot an unarmed woman five times without justification, boasted about it to his colleagues, and then this administration tried cover it all up by arresting her and charging her with felonies.
Absolutely incredible; after shooting Marimar Martinez 5 times and arresting her on claims that she rammed them and pulled a gun, prosecutors have now moved to dismiss ALL criminal charges against her and her codefendant.
New: the govt has moved to dismiss its assault case against Marimar Martinez and Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, two people accused of "box[ing] in" a Border Patrol vehicle in Chicago on Oct. 4.

One agent shot Martinez, with evidence presented to the court that he later bragged about in text messages.

I really don't even know what reality is anymore, but this part of it, at least, I can get behind.
The Pistons are 13-2, have won 11-straight and are the NBA's second-best team. Here's a thread of some of my work this past week:

Thinking about the Lions game last night, and Goff increasingly makes me think of the Two Bartlets episode of West Wing, in which the president has two distinct personas: the lethal intellect and the bumbling grandpa. That's the Goff experience in a nutshell.

It may not be much of a line for the Supreme Court to draw, but it is nice to know they might actually have one.
The Court is once again upholding Article VIII of the Constitution, which clearly states that the president is allowed to do whatever he wants except break the economy.
