Reinstate FDA staffing to safeguard U.S. food supply
Text SIGN PGLECC to 50409 — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a critical agency responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of our food supply. Recent staffing cuts of up to 20,000 employees have severely undermined the FDA's ability to carry out its vital mission. Key quality control programs have been suspended, leaving the agency unable to conduct essential testing for foodborne pathogens like Cyclospora in spinach, contaminants like the pesticide glyphosate in barley, and other hazards that put American lives at risk. In the past, the FDA has played a crucial role in safeguarding public health by preventing issues like widespread Salmonella outbreaks in peanut butter, E. coli contamination in romaine lettuce, and melamine adulteration in infant formula. This dereliction of duty is unacceptable. The FDA's lapse in oversight jeopardizes public health and safety on a massive scale. Foodborne illnesses already sicken millions and kill thousands in the United States each year. With its resources gutted, the FDA can no longer adequately safeguard the integrity of our food system or rapidly detect and respond to contamination events. Americans deserve better protection. Immediate action must be taken to fully reinstate the FDA's workforce and restore its inspection, testing, and quality assurance capabilities to protect the nation's food supply. Robust funding and staffing of this vital public health agency should be an utmost priority to fulfill the government's fundamental obligation to protect its citizens. The consequences of inaction are too severe. I urgently call on Congress to take the necessary steps to ensure the FDA can comprehensively carry out its lifesaving work without further compromise.

You know the *only* reason he got out so fast was a reporter live posted about this for hours. And, a large amount of public pressure.

Every time someone gets grabbed, there has to be a robust public response immediately.

Here's the Bluesky post. This is incredible. Now the goal will be to get him home. And I want to hear what Senator Van Hollen learned from him.

What this shows is that Bukele is very much susceptible to pressure.

Now we can't forget about the other 237 people sent there on March 15.
I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

If Trump can send immigrants to some foreign gulag in the jungle, how long before a Governor from one of those pointy-toed boot wearing states with the big hats decides to do the same thing for those who help women get an out-of-state abortion?

Isn't that always his shtick? He deflects, states he doesn't know anting about what they're asking, then points to someone that he can blame & have them take the call for it.
REPORTER: If a court holds you in contempt, you will take steps to return Abrego Garcia & put him in front of a judge?

TRUMP: Well I'm not involved in it. I'm gonna respond by saying you'll have to speak to the lawyers. I've heard many things about him, and we'll have to find out what the truth is

By his own definition, he, most of this administration, and a big number of their most prominent supporters are worthless subhumans. Which might be the most honest thing he’s ever said. Most people with autism contribute more value to society before they wake up in the morning than he has in 70 yrs.

Gotta love when the worst nepo baby of all nepo babies, who has literally just cut 40% of the entire US Health & Human Services budget so that billionaires won’t have to pay taxes, says someone’s worth is defined by whether they are qualified to work certain jobs, create original art, and pay taxes.
RFK Jr is a eugenicist and believes that if you aren't able to contribute to a capitalist society in the way he thinks you should then you don't deserve to live.
The full quote from RFK, Jr. is truly disgusting and this is 100% him calling for institutionalization of autistic people. This is horrifying.

🖋️ “Stop the SAVE Act!” hit 1,000 signers!

💬 Text SIGN PJQYGB to 50409
Stop the SAVE Act!
Text SIGN PJQYGB to 50409 — As your constituent, I strongly urge you to oppose the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. The SAVE Act would place the burden on every single American citizen to prove their citizenship when registering to vote or updating their voter registration, chiefly by presenting either a passport or a birth certificate in person. This bill represents a dangerous dereliction of your duty as a member of Congress to safeguard free and fair elections and ensure accessible voting for all U.S. citizens—including your own constituents. Under 18 U.S.C. § 1015, it is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in federal elections, and those that break the law can face up to five years in prison. Americans already attest to their citizenship status when registering to vote, and election officials verify their eligibility using federal and state data, including citizenship data from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Americans also must already provide their driver’s license number or the last four digits of their social security number when registering to vote. Instead of the government doing its job, the SAVE Act would put the burden on every single American citizen to prove that they can exercise their constitutional right to vote. More than 140 million U.S. citizens do not possess a passport, and 69 million women who took their spouse’s last name upon marriage would not be able to use their birth certificate to prove their identity. Rural and working class Americans are less likely to have a passport. The SAVE Act endangers the constitutional rights of all Americans. We deserve better than irresponsibly thought out legislation, and we expect more from Congress. I urge you to vote no on the SAVE Act.
