"do it scared" this... "do it tired" that...
no one ever talks about the absolutely insurmountable "do it even though you're disabled because you shouldn't let your disability stop you!! no don't stop trying to overcome it, you're so sexy ahaha"

Happy book birthday to this excellent fantasy anthology I recommend all the time for its rich exploration of stories by disabled authors!
Artifice & Access released on January 25th, 2025, and it has been such a wonderful time seeing all the love for this #anthology & the stories within 💖

I am immensely grateful for every person who has ever supported this project in any way, big or small 💖😭💖

I think AI "artists" should just cutout the middleman and steal art from galleries if they wanna be thieves so bad. Step up! BE BOLD!!

🧵/ So, I dug into this list of most-anticipated Romantasy books releasing up to April, and it looks like:

1) Only 1 book has a protagonist with disability/chronic illness

2) There’s no reliable info that more than 1 author has disclosed a disability/chronic illness

*mumbles* it's the narrative seeking reader permission to proceed with an imbalanced power dynamic by acknowledging it once and then never again, instead of actually interrogating the power dynamic and drawing dramatic tension from the imbalance, in this essay I will--
when I tell you I read a book where they're about to bone but then the man says "we can't! the power dynamic!"

I can't describe how much I love when essay writers drop a "Hello?" to make a point.
It feels so human, so rapt with meaning and emotion.

I do this all the time, usually with 3x the question marks to emphasise my bafflement 😂

We are starting a new blog series highlighting Sapphic Specfics of different genres that a) are kind of "comps" to the type of fiction and sapphic authors we'd kill to be involved with, and b) a heads up on some books we love you may not have seen! So watch out for our posts in the next few weeks.

Depression and autism being able to mess with temperature regulation is so frustrating and overwhelming.
For three days I've been both sweltering in 30+ degree heat, and shivering in the air from a cheap fan, and at all times so very hyper-aware of my skin 😭 HELL
