I don’t care who you are, the one thing that links all of the -isms and bigotries together and sets them on fire is eugenics and ableism.

They’ve been playing you all the entire time. There is no progress in this country for ANYTHING without equity for disabled people.

Instead of saying "fuck disabled people, i have to work 40+ hours a week to survive"...

You could stand in solidarity with us and help us achieve a world where your worth and survival is not dependent on how much work you can do, how little sleep you can get, and how many people you can starve.
We’ve been conditioned to believe that empathy, care, and justice are scarce resources, and that if someone gains rights or support, someone else must lose them.
This isn't the case.
We made this shit up.

Wanting better for everyone isn’t a threat, it’s the foundation of collective liberation!!

I've been thinking about how deeply our hyper-individualistic culture twists conversations about oppression. Too often, “I wish I had support too,” is heard as, “I wish someone else didn’t have support so I can have it.”

And this misunderstanding isn’t exactly accidental 🫣

The problem with having a special interest in disability theory is that so many of the books are acedemic and so cost $50+ 😭

excuse me for wanting to read about the biopolitics of disability and not make my bank explode

I feel this "in the real world" talk
1) creates a self-fullfilling cycle of absolving others of social responsibilities
2) presents disability as an individual issue, and
2) only benefits our ableist systems and people in power.

Why reinforce "the real world" when we can push for better?
stop telling your neurodivergent child that in "the real world" people won't accommodate them, so they should suck it up. this is the real world and you shouldn't be your child's first bully

Sorry, can't talk if you haven't read Artifice & Access: A Disability in Fantasy anthology 😏

Check it out → tinyurl.com/ykbc29jr

This anthology seeks to disrupt #disability stereotypes and flip off exclusionary narratives🖕.
Disabled and chronically ill people DO belong in fantasy!

I always enjoy reading Ceinwen's blogs 💖
October blog is UP! Typical of my kind of Halloween, things got very WW2 and Frankenstein focused.

Featuring six book reviews, four film reviews (a couple of which turned into interlocking mini-essays) and an enthusiastic spruik for magazines.

Only Monsters Play God, or, my October 2025 in media
I had planned for my October to follow a pretty standardly Halloween vibe: scary books, lightly spooky movies. But I am who I am, so after one attempt at...

Everyone please read it and shower Mon in compliments! 😁
I have a new story out!

Listen, I hate Trump, but insulting him through his health and physical condition(s?) is rooted in ableism.

Take aim at his choices, not the fact he allegedly needs a colostomy bag.

#Disability is not a weapon for you to weild when you don't like someone. It's a natural part of aging.

Sorry but the ABC writing about Lidia Morawska winning the 2025 Prime Minister's Prize for Science...

for recognising that #COVID primarily transmits through air...

... and using the phrase "during COVID" multiple times, when we've done nothing to clean the air, is diabolical 🧍

"You must earn a living" is such a dystopian phrase.

EARN a LIVING?

How about you earn DEEZ NUTS? 🤾‍♀️

Which of course stands for Disability, Equity, Equity, Zoom(classes), Notting (Hill, the 1999 classic), Unity, Teamwork, and Social (responsibility) 🙏

I LOVE YOU TOM HANKS ❤️
I KNEW YOU WOULDNT FAIL ME TOM HANKS 💖💖
Tom Hanks understands that Covid is not over & that masks work!

He says he’s in a play and can’t get sick.

“I’ve had covid enough. I don’t want to do that again”

This is the way. Wearing a mask helps keep you healthy and it protects those around you.

A respirator like an N95 is best!

I have a question for #disabled & chronically ill baddies:

In what ways do you filter your needs through the lens of the person(s) you're with in order to be less of a "burden"? 🤔

Me first: I forgo asking for *anything* else if that person masks "for" me.
