The great @chucktingle.bsky.social makes this point often. All writing is worth taking seriously, and all of his books are done with serious intent.
Unsolicited writing advice: no. 8075: There is no such thing as serious writing. There are only writers who take their work seriously, and those who don’t. Tragedy is no more “serious” than comedy. Children’s writing is no less “serious” than writing for adults. Good writing is wherever you find it.

Cats may be kinda stupid, but they're not completely stupid. When we bring them food and provide shelter, they know what that means and they try to repay it. Their only currency is soft warm cuddles, and that is enough.
