I just realized it’s been five years since
the Four Seasons Total Landscaping press
conference one of the most surreal moments
in modern politics. While in Philly, I had to
visit the site. Strange place for a press
conference. Fascinating place to stand.

Under new head of Paramount David Ellison, the studio has drawn up a list of actors who opposed the Gaza genocide and will not allow them to appear in its films and TV shows.

Does this sound familiar?

Also, "Ellison is reportedly aiming to take over Warner Bros. next."
Paramount Has Blacklist for Stars Deemed “Overtly Antisemitic” — World of Reel
It sure looks like the likes of Javier Bardem, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Mark Ruffalo won’t be making movies for Paramount in the foreseeable future.

Another masterful work by Katie Wolfe (The Haka Party Incident) - always finding artful ways to tell the stories of this place! Profound and often hilarious with brilliant performances and design. Go see it!

A big ol thread of some early colonial history of Te Whanganui a Tara. Love to see it 🤗
#nzhistory... Rewind back before the nz company...

The first big shot at colonising Aotearoa came way back in 1825. A rich British politician, John George Lambton, sent two ships to scope out the place for resources and trade opportunities.

ICYMI, this is a great book! With Xmas coming up, poss a good prez for the politically inclined folks in your life !
I released The Life and Opinions of Kartik Popat this time last year. I’m super proud of the book & genuinely think it has captured the zeitgeist. The circumstances of the book have become more and more relevant as the viciousness of this era reveals itself. Anyway, here’s a review that nailed it
Love this review of a book I love. The Life and Opinions of Kartik Popat by Brannavan Gnanalingam: An 'Asian horror story' and an 'instantly iconic' political satire. By Tze Ming Mok

That matters not just for us in Wales, but for progressives everywhere. The populist right can be beaten when people are offered hope and a vision of a fairer future.” #nzpol

This is a thousand years worth of Creative NZ government funding
our govt wants to spend 327 times more on a single road ($18b) than they are currently spending yearly on all of basic science in new zealand ($55m) #nzpol
The Northern Expressway we were told would cost $10 billion is now priced at $18 billion, or six times the Cook Strait crossing we were told was unaffordable. This is fantasy stuff. www.nzherald.co.nz/northern-adv...

New Zealand guts climate policy it bragged about on the world stage

Nothing surprises me about the US any more.
They sat stone-faced and silent as the president called for them to use US cities as training grounds and to fight “the enemy within,” and the secretary of defense told them to ignore “stupid rules of engagement “ and “woke garbage.”

Then they were threatened with dismissal if they didn't obey.
