I call this the Toothpaste Argument for UBI, inspired by Gotz Werner and a story from him about why buying toothpaste enables the production of more of it.
The Toothpaste Argument for Universal Basic Income
The following argument is based on the words of the late Götz Werner, who was a long-time supporter of the concept of unconditional basic income in Germany, who gained a unique understanding of UBI a...

Full sequence of the annular solar eclipse at Shiprock, New Mexico. This was a dream composition of mine. So much time, energy, and money went into making it happen. I'm forever grateful to the Navajo for letting me shoot it from sacred ground. An experience I'll never forget.

Study after study after study finds the same thing, over and over: UBI works. UBI helps people. UBI saves lives.

So UBI just keeps not happening.

Centuries spent punishing crime and what do we have? Continued blame on individuals instead of societal systems. Swap punishment for rehab, swap prison bars for schools. But most of all, implement Universal Basic Income.

It's time to build people up instead of keeping them down.
