My god, we are beclowning ourselves before the entire world. It’s so embarrassing.

"I would rather pick somebody out of a crowd at a Washington Wizards game to run monetary policy than hand it over to Donald Trump," said @thirdwaymattb.bsky.social.

With markets plummeting, prices rising, and 401Ks tanking from his tariffs, Trump has no place to question Fed Chair Powell.

Fawning toady gets seat in press room as North Korea-style White House makeover continues. Pretty soon they’ll be bringing in cases of cognac and DVDs of 80s movies.
Here's the recap by the org that got into the New Media Seat today.

The GOP budget doesn't just raise the deficit by trillions, it aims to cut $800B from Medicaid.

The critical thing here is Trump's tariffs wouldn't be possible without an extraordinary abuse of power on his part. The national emergency rationale is likely illegal. The lawlessness and the economic havoc are the same story.

Democrats: The market is crashing. Prices will soon be skyrocketing. Critical imports are being cut off.

We must direct all our fire in one direction: “Trump did this. To you. On purpose. For no reason.”

Not “tariffs are sometimes good.” Not “the rich are getting richer.”

That is not the implication of that quote. Like at all. Not even a little bit.
Hey everybody, remember this quote in 2028 (if there is a 2028) when you once again tell progressives that the centrist candidate is the only one who can win!
“I am not willing to go public yet but I will say this: I don’t know if I would be this worried about what will happen to the economy if Bernie fucking Sanders were president,” one big Trump/GOP donor says. “That’s how bad this is…

It is unclear whether U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr, who has long promoted anti-vaccine views, is involved in the planned CDC study or how it would be carried out.

What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why.

What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?

This is a bigger issue than people realize. Not just jobs lost. But their families losing benefits. Landlords losing tenants. Cities and towns losing revenue. This is how recessions start

Ready Fire Aim is no way to govern.
More accurate, fewer words;

"There are plenty of contractors going under".

A friend furloughed 75% of staff (furlough w/paying for health insurance for three months), 50% exec pay cut, 25% rest of staff to keep as many people w/salary.

PS: Wasn't 18F a government office, not a contractor.

I'm married to a Mainer and spend a lot of time there. You know what Mainers really don't like? People from away pushing them around.
TRUMP: The NCAA has complied immediately. That's good. But I understand Maine -- is the governor of Maine here?

JANET MILLS: Yeah I'm here

TRUMP: Are you not gonna comply?

JM: I'm going to comply with state and federal law

T: You better do it bc you're not gonna get any federal funding at all

WTAF is this guy talking about? I get that Trump doesn't like experts, but maybe someone who understands at least undergraduate-level economics should be running the National Economic Council.
National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett says sending each American $5,000 checks from DOGE wouldn't be inflationary because inflation only happens when the government spends money. (???)
