The most corrupt president in modern U.S. history should be behind bars.

More than 4 million will lose health insurance due to the House GOP’s refusal to extend ACA tax credits. Millions more will face higher premiums.

Speaker Johnson, enough with the political cowardice & start serving the American public. Put the discharge petition on the floor for a vote immediately.

Crazy how Trump is flailing, Epstein files are coming out, the economy is going to shit, and Republicans are defecting and the first thing his admin does is pivot to attacking trans people. It's all they know. Just distract everyone from what's important by attacking a vulnerable minority group.

It almost goes without saying, but this is illegal. The name "John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts" is established by law and the board doesn't have the power to change it. 20 USC 3 §§ 76h - 76s.

Major fail. Trump never should have been able to run for public office—any public office—ever again.
Former special counsel Jack Smith tells a congressional committee that his team found "proof beyond a reasonable doubt” that President Trump engaged in a “criminal scheme” to overturn the results of the 2020 election, according to portions of his opening statement obtained by NBC News.

Not for nothing but federal law contains several statutory provisions that restrict, if not outright prohibit, this unilateral action by the senile dementia patient in the Oval.

War Powers Act. War Crimes Act. Anti-Piracy Act. Neutrality Act.

All still on the books.

I know this is a bold stance in America, but I simply do not believe we should be declaring war on another country for “stealing our oil” when the oil is, in fact, under the ground of that other country

Fuck 'em if they're not going to impeach somebody who absolutely, unabashedly deserves to be impeached and is an absolute danger to this country.

To not do so is an abdication of their oath of office.
Exactly right: the more relevant precedents aren't the last two Trump impeachments. They're Johnson, which came within one vote of conviction and basically neutered him, and Nixon, which effectively succeeded.

In part b/c Johnson and Nixon were both lame ducks, as Trump wasn't before but now is.
New from @juliaazari.bsky.social at Can We Still Govern?
Democrats are divided about pursuing a third Trump impeachment.
But Trump’s second term actions — abuses of federal power amidst a racial backlash — fits well with previous historical patterns. 🧵
