Hey y'all! I'm Luvvie. I write books (4 NYT bestsellers. 5th is a kid's book called LITTLE TROUBLEMAKER DEFENDS HER NAME coming 5/6/25). I'm a speaker and podcast host. I'm passionate about helping people on margins become successful published authors so I created The Book Academy.

Book recommendations for this post US election Sunday. These two books are essential reading and also the reason why the outcome was not a shock to me and actually was exactly what I expected it to be. Both are incredibly well researched and beautifully written.

I’ve spent the last week watching videos and livestreams of mostly black women.

To all my fellow white women: Please stop telling black women their feelings are valid. They KNOW this. Stop telling them “but I voted for Kamala too. Don’t turn your back on me.”

You’re not listening.

I hear we're making female rage book lists? Consider adding Saints of Storm and Sorrow. My Bisexual lead is chosen by the Goddess of Storms and Vengeance and this book is all about embracing the anger deep down inside of you and making it everyone's problem. So add Saints to your reading list!

Alright! This is the first rendition of the much-requested "Diverse Urbanism Voices" starter pack, it currently includes lots of women which is great, but I would appreciate more POC urbanism account suggestions!

Since I couldn't find that anyone else had created one, I took a stab at an indie bookstore starter pack. If you are or know of an indie bookstore anywhere in the world that should be included, let me know. #IndieBookstores

I should probably post something book related!

This beauty releases January 7, 2025. An origin story of the Muses from Hercules!

Psst…I’ll soon have a preorder campaign in conjunction with one of my fave local indie bookstores that includes some really cool swag.

This. Absolutely this. I ran out yesterday and bought 22 books. Most from my local used book store.

Books are knowledge.
Knowledge is power.
Americans: we need to get each other reading.

I am sitting here, Sundays being my day to write. I asked myself: What's the point?

And you know what, *that* is the point.

Create, despite despair. Create as an act of defiance.

Create words, like those what helped me when I needed it, that might help others.

I can only hope that's the case.

This past week has been tough. It’s hard to get a grip on the reality we are facing as a country right now. The fact that tomorrow marks one week but it feels like it’s been WEEKS is crazy.

My heart hurts. The amount of racist, sexist, & homophobic comments I’ve seen makes me feel sick.

I just went into Barnes and Noble and someone randomly asked me to join a Bible study.

I was much too nice.

It was a reflex.

I should have said: “I’m the last person you want in your Bible study.”

Or I should have just said, “Fuck off.”
