Is that about the new Seattle mayor? Okay that’s funny 😃
A second socialist mayor has been elected

By caving and voting to reopen the government the democrats achieved nothing and simultaneously also shifted blame for the shutdown from republicans to democrats. Can we please just shutter this party down, they’re less than useless if that’s somehow possible.
November 14, 2025 at 6:57 AM
Hmmm…., I wonder why 🙂 Oddly some of the most uninformed believe they’re well informed and consume a wide range of news sources. Sadly consuming Fox, OANN, and Newsmax doesn’t make their sources well rounded/balanced.
Fox: If you have high school or less as your education, 59% voted for Donald Trump. But it seems the more educated you are, the more you go over to the Democratic column.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if someone was willing to take on the case on behalf of those wrongly arrested because this jerk wanted to flex.

@aclu.org @aclum.bsky.social
Hey @akivamcohen.bsky.social is it defamation if I call ICE and tell them someone is an undocumented immigrant when I have no way of knowing that? Asking for a bunch of car washers.
According to the car wash owner, agents arrested employees before they could obtain their documentation from their work lockers. So many were likely here legally.

Here's hoping this article on Zac boasting about how he ruined some immigrants' lives follows him around for a very long time.

Schumer represents the Democratic Party that no longer works and we don’t need.
Khanna: And then it’s awfully convenient that those eight senators happen to be the ones who aren’t up in 2026—and they’re all consulting Schumer. People are sick of this. That’s why I called on Schumer to step down.
November 11, 2025 at 7:19 PM
Rachel Maddow said it exactly right - once again the democrats have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Every senator that voted for the bill to reopen should be immediately fired for total failure to deliver what they were elected to do.

Insanity. He believes the opportunity to show everyone who does and does not support the ACA subsidy was worth caving. Everyone of these senators that caved deserve to be primaried and booted at the earliest opportunity.
Kaine on why he thinks just getting a vote on healthcare is a win: "We're the minority party, but everybody will get to see who is standing for them when it comes to lowering their healthcare costs"
November 10, 2025 at 3:51 PM
I cannot believe democrat senators are this dumb, reaching over to give the republicans a win in return for a vote on the ACA subsidies - yes a vote on, not the actual subsidies.

Did the election results last week not make it abundantly clear the people want democrats that stand up and fight back?

Caving on the shutdown won’t make you “moderate.” It makes you WEAK! Giving Republicans what they want for NOTHING more than a “promise” of a vote and risking millions of Americans’ healthcare isn’t compromise—it’s surrender and it’s the most RADICAL thing you could do in this moment. 1/

👇🎯 Unfortunately, this is true & probably the only way. Voters need to realize that hating government, & illegally defunding & dismantling it, & pretending that we can run a modern society/economy on Ronald Reagan's shabby talking point & worn copies of Atlas Shrugged & Mein Kampf is untenable.
Democrats have to stop bailing out Republicans from facing the consequences of their own policies. And yeah, that means they have to stop sparing voters from experiencing what GOP government truly means.

Every time Dems step in, it only emboldens the GOP & they make it even worse the next time.
So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.
November 9, 2025 at 10:58 PM
Why is every democrat not shouting this from every rooftop at the top of their lungs?
November 6, 2025 at 11:29 PM
This is the kind of thing all democrats need to do, all the time. They don’t know how to do this effectively like the republicans, someone needs to teach them these important skills.

I did not write the headline, but I have an op ed on Prop 50 over at the @sfchronicle.com.

Shorter version: the nationalization and polarization of our politics is what got us here, and it's also the most likely way out. It will take national partisan Democratic hardball to enact anti-hardball.
California’s Prop 50 passed. Now, here’s how to end partisan redistricting once and for all
OPINION: We need a new federal statute of mutual disarmament — ideally before we reach the point where there are zero California Republicans and zero Texas Democrats, Joseph Fishkin writes.

I totally missed the Jay Jones text controversy until after finding out he's won the race.

The republicans have some audacity claiming his crude messages disqualify him from running for public office like they have a moral high ground.

The chief goal of the Democratic Party should not be winning elections, but educating the public in all 50 states, for the purpose of winning elections in all 50 states.
No vile political movement ever went wrong by assuming the American people generally don’t know anything. The good folks on our side need to start assuming that too, and educating Americans instead of just polling their ignorance and following it sheep-like to the abyss.
