The grief of familial abandonment to trans youth especially, is something far too many trans people have had to experience, but where in our lives are we truly able to acknowledge these atrocities, and grieve for them, for ourselves? This space endeavours to hold room for the complexities of all grief, beyond the standard models of both grieving [as a process] itself and what can be considered grief. I am sick of people forgetting that rural people exist and may not have options when it comes to refusing to shop at particular stores. Every grocery store in my Southern NM community gave in to anti DEI BS. The nearest Costco is 4 plus hours away in Northern NM or Texas. Aldi about the same.

Most of the independent fabric stores near me either shut down or went specialty, usually quilting. From a costuming perspective, where were you gonna find velvet?
