By the way, you can in fact run a media business where people give you money for goods and services. 56k+ people give The Onion ~$100 and we give them a year of newspapers. This business didn’t exist last year in this way. People will pay for good shit. Now’s the time to break glass and go for it.

Spoke to a rural Texas NPR/PBS affiliate today. I'm working on a story but he said there's serious consideration to shutting down the station. Jobs lost, educational resources and essential news for a community just gone.
The rescission bill has passed the Senate. Once it passes the House, as expected, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's budget will be zeroed out for the first time since 1967, back when TV stations still broadcast in black and white.
