If the Democrats ever get back in power there needs to be full retribution in the form of legislation and taxes.
Will never cease to amaze me how many corporations are willingly onboard with this regime shrinking their potential customer base.
New: Google has chosen a side in Trump's mass deportation campaign. Google is hosting a CBP facial recognition app to hunt immigrants; no indication Google will remove. At same time Google takes down apps for reporting ICE sightings

Apropos of literally everything going on right now I watched "The Exterminating Angel" from dir Luis Buñel last night and I don't know that I've ever seen such a visceral takedown of the Bourgeoisie. Fantastic film that's just as relevant today as it was in 1962.

This dude sucks so much.
Fetterman on Morning Joe: "I know both of you have been punished to have conversations, ongoing dialogue with President Trump. I got hit just to have dinner with him after he invited me to have that conversation. Pennsylvania keeps people honest."

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

Democrats sucking at negotiations yet again. This is not something that's "offered." It's demanded. "Offering" as a negotiating ploy (meaning they will likely take less) is chicken sh!t stuff that makes them no better than the GOP. Playing with lives of real humans to score political points.

No Republican in the last decade has ever been able to answer any sort of question in regards to any policy with anything legitimate. They simply can't govern. In fact, they are opposed to that very thing.

Just pretend it never happened. Continuity is the devil and people love James Bond more than they do the continuity. Especially if it's a new actor.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

This nails it. Dems get to become unlikable when they say "you are wrong! You don't understand this like we do and WE know it's the best move."
instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

For the first time in decades Dems had the easier side of the argument with anger on their side, they couldn't handle it, and torpedoed it. People will lose healthcare and the GOP will blame the Dems and say it was their demand to open back up to govt and will use that against them in elections.
Senate Democrats who voted to end the shutdown acknowledged that negotiations were going nowhere.

In the end, fatigue and frustration triumphed over anger and anxiety at President Trump.

This is the saddest part that they simply don't realize what's happening even STILL. Or that they do and their donors and/or re-election is more important to them than helping people. Either way its awful.
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

Lots going on but from outside it seems that at least part of the calculus was that flight disruption for middle class and up travelers matters more than life disruption for untold numbers who’ll be deprived of health care.

Things went too well for the Dems this week so they had to destroy all that goodwill as fast as possible. Can't go around having people believe they actually want to fight for us. That would be silly.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
