Disheartening result for the NDP. Canadians have lost some good incumbents and the opportunity for good representatives in key races. Can't help feeling like an indictment of the current iteration of the party, and showing the need to rebuild and re-engage with working class grassroots and members.

Do more than just buy local.

Resist American Imperialism.

Those being bullied by Yanks, don't let them win. And to everyone, within and beyond the belly of the beast, stand against Trumpist fascism wherever it rears its filthy head.

Fuck the United States. It’s long past time the rest of the world stood up to its bullying and the way it throws around its economic weight to force other countries to act as it wants them to.

Now that US economic aggression is even hitting Western allies, will they finally rein in the US?

Time to turn off the taps.
Not a single bottle of American wine, beer or bourbon should be sold anywhere in Canada.
From here on in I will only drink "freedom" wines from Canada, France or Spain.
As for the beer? It's shit anyways.

This weekend those celebrating Advent are entering the third week: Joy. Til now, Advent centred penitence and hope.

Likewise, in a world filled with dread, with creeping conservatism and fledgling fascism and grievous genocides and instability, cherish Joy and use it to build a better world.

This is disingenuous on the part of the NSPC; @tammyjfrcowbay.bsky.social was listed as an independent by ENS well before she actually decided to do so. The listing of the NSNDP Official Agent as Tammy's OA is just outdated info on the part of ENS.

Finishing what I started. To all who cast ballots for me fr the day the returning office opened Oct 31st to Nov 9th - they are spoiled. I say to vote, they all matter. Those will matter on the 26th but in a different way.

Here is me saying, I’m running solo! Votes fr Nov 11 on are for me!

I talk with workers every day, they aren't hopelessly reactionary. Construction workers are like everyone: they have uneven views, mostly they want good working conditions, good social services, and to care for their families. It's up to the Left to present a convincing vision of those demands.
The irony is the media wants you to believe the population has grown more right wing the reality is it’s really corporate media and the pundit class that’s grown more right wing. Not the pop. corporate media whether that’s the Atlantic CNN or others have been radicalized to the right. Not us.

I've been mulling the American election over all day. Though I have many thoughts-- about how Left and 'Centrist' parties have been lurching right pursuing voters who hate them, and more-- what's far more important is organising and volunteering in my local provincial election. So I'll just do that

NS ACORN is working on pushing permanent rent control, ending abuse of fixed term leases, and expanding affordable housing, to the front of every party and every voters mind in this election.

If you get doorstepped by a candidate or volunteer, push them on this.

I'm so annoyed with Tim Houston calling an early election. Not because it's a cynical ploy to play off of voters confusion between Federal and Provincial politics, but because it's so transparently so. Let's see where this goes...

It's honestly so dystopian to spend two years researching how the financialisation of housing and disinvestment from social housing have led to the housing crisis, and to have your city councillors and province fighting over to *which* parks they should shunt unhoused people.

You know, when you think about it, it's insane that Halifax just voted to allow a homeless encampment on the Commons, and the province *still* isn't even promising a study about building public housing. They really don't give a shit, do they?
