The problem with a duopoly is that in order for the Republicans to lose, the Dems need to win. That's an issue when you need the party as weak as possible in order to destroy it. Every win strengthens the establishment, no matter who the candidate is. Money will flow so long as Dems are viable.

IMO, the "left" is so used to being abused, powerless, and thrown under the bus that a lot of people--particularly those still operating in the Dem Party--will make excuses for anything to justify their continued participation. They are desperate for power, hence the defense of Bernie and Platner.
