Mostly people you’re setting boundaries with aren’t going to like your boundaries because it takes away their full access to treat you like shit
having boundaries? that’s emotional, insistent & aggressive.
Tell me why blocking is preferable to ignoring or muting? Blocking is emotional, insistent, and aggressive. It is almost always used as revenge because the blocked made the blocker feel small.

I can still smell my elementary school
cafeteria. Steamy gravy and lunch lady BO. Those were the days. Sitting alone with my shame filled brown bag and the hunger for something bigger than a shit sandwich.

Lonely children deserve love notes in their brown bag of shame.

Years ago, a therapist I was working with made me go on Match so I could get used to rejection. It was a slow fall into the abyss of dating after 40. In the beginning every bad date, every ghost, every catfish, felt like a micro-abandonment. I’m 50 now. The freedom of giving no fucks is liberation!

It has been said that a therapist cannot take a patient further than they themselves have gone. Perhaps this also applies to a therapist’s 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 to change. If we cannot be moved, we cannot move others. Rigidity can be contagious, as can change.
