From a Canadian perspective, this is absolutely correct. Canada, Mexico, Europe - we will all look to our own safety and sovereignty first. If there is no mass resistance on behalf of Americans, we will assume you are backing Trump.

The biggest lesson the US is going to have to learn is that nobody is coming to help, this is a lesson every country in the world has learned. This is your fight. Every country you know will continue to make deals with Trump, unless you put up mass resistance and show the world you do not consent.
