A braag, brag, or bragg, is a shapeshifting trickster spirit that appears in County Durham folklore, where it appears variously as: a wild horse that will run you amok, cow in a white scarf, a naked headless man, or in one case, four men stood under a sheet.

Isn’t it? An enfolding in language that enhances and never overpowers the stories being told. Poetic, proper folk horror that treat the folklore as vital infrastructure, not tinsel.

I rarely share organizations in Gaza because it’s too hard to verify that they are doing the work they say they are but I know multiple people who were able to evacuate through the people working on this fund who are funding trips out of Gaza City (it’s $2100 a trip for 16 people).
