Hello, friends! The Braag is a Newcastle based small press and journal. We sell amazing speculative fiction and poetry - our vibe is weird, wild and beautifully presented! You can shop our books at thebraag.co, we also run the micro-journal Carmen et Error and work with writers across the world.
The Braag Presents
We were established in October 2020 in a moment of dazzling common sense and against government advice to retrain as something practical—such as an umbrella, or an exceptionally short lamp post.

My mistake, it was £13. Why on earth has it gone up by £37 in six years?
When we started the Braag in 2020 it was an £18 filing fee for our yearly confirmation statement for the companies house. They just announced it's going up to £50. Jesus bloody Christ.

They call them corpse roads, coffin paths. They call them wraith ways, lych lanes. Routes carved into the land by those grief-heavy feet coming from outlying places to distant churches for burial. Death as procession, death as ritual journey. A haunted hodology. – Dr. M. Benn

Hi folks - Just to let you know that we've had to increase our international shipping fees as the prices have gone up so much.

EU - £7.50 flat rate
ROW - £15.00 flat rate

I know we have a lot of international customers, and I don't want to scare them off, but we can't take the hit anymore. :(

my fellows in big five publishing are looking to a future in which AI is pushed onto them by the higher-ups with little thought, meanwhile 99% of the indies I know are coming out against it
I tried to read that AI defense from an author I'd never heard of before, sorry, anthologist, and I gave up. If you call spellcheck AI, then you're just muddying the waters. And stating that small presses disproportionately depend on AI generated materials? Is this for real?
