We're open for fiction submissions!

We publish unsettling bad time stories that straddle the horror, fantasy, and science fiction spectrum. But genre is made up so if you have a dark weird horrible story that could be a fit, send it in and let us worry about it.

No closing date, open indefinitely.

Heard a couple of times that we're a folklore press, which is a lovely reputation to have and completely understandable, but to clarify: our first anthology is of folklore-themed fiction, and our goal is to publish a range of speculative fiction. Our next anthologies won't be specifically folklore!

Delighted that we now have 500 followers on here! Thank you to everyone who has followed along so far - we've got so much planned to share with you all 🧡

We're looking for new novellas and short story collections of fantasy, sci-fi, and horror - with a preference for strange and literary writing.

For folk magic is often a serious of fragile truces with the land, a series of appeasements made to nature’s legion of spirits. The cunning folk are diplomats to enfolding otherworlds. Few in the Foreign Office could match their skill. - Dr. M. Benn, 1981 lecture at Woden College, Weychester

Things are the worst I've ever known. Worse than austerity, worse than Covid, worse than the cost of living crisis, as those economic changes become baked into our lives 💔
