To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.

The welfare budget has been stable for more than 10 years.
It is not spiralling out of control.
The main increases are for pensioners - if the state pension wasn't counted as a benefit, & it shouldn't be, the picture would be very different!

Such important context for the scrapping of the two child limit:
70% of the additional spending from removing the two-child limit will go to families who are in work. This is targeting support for low-income working households who are being priced out of a decent standard of living despite doing everything asked of them.
