Centre left politics. Want to rejoin EU. Would like honest politics and a decent welfare state. Fair tax burden on ALL who can afford it. Love the NHS.

I guarantee that most British people have no idea who Curtis Yarvin, or Peter Thiel are.
I also guarantee that the ‘Zone Fever’ stealthily eclipsing the UK (which is backed by the duopoly) is a critical component of Yarvin and Thiel’s plans to dismantle democracy in the US, and the UK.

Just pointing out that the UK has the highest pension and minimum wage we ever had. Also the highest level of regulatory protection.

Because it is rarely mentioned when everyone talks about how terrible everything is.

A big thank you to Angela Rayner for her work on 2 bills which are going for Royal Assent (likely this week).

The Employment Rights Bill
The Planning and Infrastructure Bill

Both are flagship pieces of legislation from our Labour government.

She guided both through most stages in Parliament.

No adverts on the BBC!
A Labour Culture Secretary, Lisa Nandy, is promoting idea of advertising on the #BBC and/or a part subscription model for its future funding.

I despair.

How can the BBC's *unique* *precious* blend of universality, independence, freedom from commercial pressure and trust be maintained in this way?

Just 217 to go now😮💙!

Parliament goes into recess in 6 days time. Before MPs break up for Christmas, we want to send all 650 MPs an incredibly important message. The NHS must be their top priority this winter🚨

I’ll count us down💙

Why can’t illegal dumping be banned immediately?
Sewage dumping near swimming spots in England getting worse.

Govt expects end to illegal dumping into waterways by mid-century.

Despite illegality corporate permits not cancelled, puny fines, execs not prosecuted, bills hiked, dividends paid, investment neglected.

Wonder if any heads will roll over this grim editorial blunder?
This is a really appalling editorial error on BBC Question Time

Chair says "have English as a second language"

Caption changes the meaning entirely

It’s sort of amazing & terrifying. Because this *is* what a digital coup looks like.

Jared Kushner's involvement was "not mentioned in Paramount's press release on Monday morning about its $108 billion bid, nor were participating sovereign wealth funds from Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Qatar."

fancy that
Jared Kushner is part of Paramount's hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery
Paramount is telling WBD shareholders that it has a smoother path to regulatory approval than does Netflix.

And nor should it. Farage is a dangerous racist and yet is being fast tracked into No.10 on a ruinous populist agenda, funded by shady right wing money and malign foreign interests.
People must know who and what they are voting for. That’s the very lowest bar in a democracy.
