This man hit on me when I was barely 18 😑 (he was probably 24 at the time).

And *he's* not tall enough for the Raggedy Andy ride.

So the theoretical future vote will include abortion ban language - fantastic.
Democrats are likely to get a vote on an extension later. But they've already gotten similar votes. Republicans already vowing to block an extension without major changes to the ACA, like adding Hyde language.

Yet another reason I'm very, very glad I no longer fly every week for a living.
Sean Duffy: "The secretary of war texted me yesterday and said, 'I might have some air traffic controllers. If you could use them, I'm gonna offer them to you.' I don't know that I can, Jake, because they're not certified in the airspaces that we need them. But if I can, I'm going to use them."

As soon as possible after ousting them, every single transgression (especially ones that used to be "norms") by this administration – and in particular – this president, needs to be explicitly written into the US code.

In last week there's been a shift in GOP messaging to argue that this is all about illegal immigrants or gender transition surgeries, but no Democratic leader has demanded such funding. They've demanded *a negotiation* to protect health care benefits, not any one way to do it.

Yup. This is every "dream job": 10% doing the thing, 90% doing everything else required to get to do that 10%.
I've got a photographer friend, and so many folks think it must be lovely to just show up, take a few pictures and get paid, without considering the thousands of hours that go into self promotion, handling finances, networking, and all the many things that aren't taking pictures.

Of the three presidential campaigns against Trump, two (2016 and 2024) made elaborate appeals to centrists at the expense of their relationship with progressives, and only one (2020) prioritized efforts to bridge the gap with progressives, however impermanently. The latter approach won.

Do you use a credit card? Rent or own a home? Use utilities like water and electricity? Send your kids to school? Have a job? Eat? Drink? Deposit money in a bank, or withdraw it? The government provides services and safeguards that enable us to do ALL of this safely. Now Musk is taking it all away.

Too big to fail
The big short
The automotive bailout
Enron

You know what happened

Wall Street created huge problems. America bailed them out. The rich got richer. Very few paid a price.

And the little guy got screwed

Until Obama created the CFPB

Now Trump wants to let them do it

All
Over
Again

I think threats are preventing both Dem and whatever sensible R lawmakers are left from fighting back. Also, the threats are definitely suppressing the press.

they just lied

they lied, and they lied, and they lied, and they won because of it and now they're claiming they had a mandate to do all of the things they lied about not doing and many more besides

the press bears an enormous amount of responsibility for all of this
This Politico story from last October shows how easy it is to launder lies through the press. It claimed Trump would ban anyone tied to Project 2025 from a job in a second Trump administration.
“Clearly people working on Project 2025 are blacklisted,” said an unidentified Trump insider. 1/4🧵

The names include conservatives linked to Project 2025 and Republicans viewed as disloyal to the former president.

These elected Democrats are so busy trying to find the middle, they're going to lose their base. They better stop conceding and learn how to fight, or nothing's going to be left.

not the only thing but prob can't be understated how much 2020-2021 pissed off these guys. remote work, a substantial, popular racial justice movement that led to ppl talking about/bringing politics to work. employees having just a hint of a sliver of market power. feels like retribution for that.
t is probably worth thinking about what is happening in Silicon Valley as a revolt of the bosses against their workers. none of this is rational. it is simply causing misery for the purpose of causing it.

He will not lower costs, in fact his plans will lead to Americans paying higher prices.
