This new asylum policy from labour is vile and betrays labour values. It ignores the reality of refugee peoples’ lives, aspirations, families… it betrays our obligations to help the most vulnerable and IT WILL NOT DETER SMALL BOATS.

It’s a grim day.

For someone who works for a purple brand, this short article from @jonnelledge.bsky.social about whether purple actually exists or not is really interesting.

The answer? It depends on the question!

200 years ago today, the first passenger train ran between Stockton and Darlington.

Six years later, Scotland’s first railway service began on the Garnkirk & Glasgow Railway.

It passed through Springburn, which soon became the world's biggest centre of locomotive manufacturing.

For a man who could not care less about golf, I really get into the Ryder Cup. I think it is the simplicity of it all. The scoring, the fact that all the individual match-ups mean something to the end.

Right now, cats are bred for appearance at the expense of their health. Breeds like flat-faced, hairless, and folded-ear cats are facing avoidable suffering because of human choices.

If you believe animals deserve better, please take a moment to sign the Cats Protection petition.

Elon Musk openly called for violence on our streets yesterday.

I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric.

Britain must stand united against this clear attempt to undermine our democracy.

People using the safety of women and girls as an excuse to campaign against marginalised people usually turn out not to care about the safety of women and girls at all. This one, involved in anti-refugee demos in Aberdeen, managed to avoid jail after throwing his then-partner down a set of stairs.

This may embarrass him but I think Sunder’s Bluesky will give you a clearer picture of what’s actually going on with these protests than the BBC and all the newspapers put together
Times new liveblog has "protestors are out in force" as a standfirst before any verification of whether that materialises

Protests "have already begun"
in Liverpool "a handful" + 200 antiracists
& Bristol "two dozen" but a large counterprotest which is "out in force"

While everyone is discussing terrible Dean Cain movies, I reccomend Breakway aka Christmas Rush.
Die Hard in a shopping mall.

Eric Roberts tries to rob the mall on christmas eve to pay for his son's luekemia treatement.

Dean Cain kills him anyway.
