Right now, cats are bred for appearance at the expense of their health. Breeds like flat-faced, hairless, and folded-ear cats are facing avoidable suffering because of human choices.

Finally saw Jurassic World Rebirth this weekend. It is a fun Dino action movie. Not a patch on the original #JurassicPark but easily the 2nd best film in the series! #JurassicWorld

On my 1st of August shopping trip I managed to buy an Easter chocolate rabbit AND the first of this year's Christmas chocolate!

I saw the new #Superman last night with @nicolalove.bsky.social and her other half. Easily the best comic book movie in years with real heart, emotional stakes and laughs, including one of the funniest jokes I've heard in years!

Oh wow. Look what arrived today. I won't be short anything to read for a while. Thank you @paulcarroll.bsky.social for creating all these comics.

I finally saw #Wicked this afternoon. What a fabulous movie which was both gay to its very core but also contained important messages about control and creating fake enemies. Loved almost every second. Jeff Goldblum kind of out stayed his welcome a wee bit!

Just learnt the hard way why I should leave my juice bottle in the car over night!

Over the weekend I watched the #movie Damaged cos it was filmed in and around my home town.

Was it good? Frustrating more like.

The central idea and twist was great while the actors gave it their all. Shame they were both almost buried by cliche after cliche. #FilmSky #FilmReview

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Nosferatu at the Bo'ness Hippodrome completely with live music from Hugo Max

Despite the film being one of the most ironic horrors ever made (many scenes are etched into our cultural consciousness) it still holds up with plenty of creepy scenes & a few laughs

Anyone know (perhaps @jonnelledge.bsky.social) why this piece of street art marking Isledon Villiage in London has a picture of a train on it?

Go to the wrong room and I'll be on Broadway by Christmas!

It is safe to say I didn't get Body Double when I watched it tonight. Has a film ever been so creepy and yet laugh out loud camp at the same time? Or maybe that is the point!

Safety Last! is an average silent comedy saved by an amazing final set piece. Harold Lloyd's building climb is as funny and stressful today as when it was first shown!

There is something wonderfully eerie about empty stations that are usually crammed full of people.

Tim Key in season one. The contestants have to wear the same clothes for all the filming days so some choose to have fun with it

Oh @robpettitt.bsky.social is right. There is a clear ceiling for Ghostbusters which is between $110million & $130million.

Which creates the problem that if a ROI on a film 3 times its budget, then the max budget for a Ghostbusters film is $40million!

It says something about my cultural outlook that the first thing I thought when I saw this headline was 'when did does Victoria Coren-Mitchell & David Mitchell have a son called Romeo?'

With a name like mine, I get used to people misspelling my first or second name. This one, however, is the most usual spelling I've had in a while!
