Unhinged Trump ramping up his threats against Republican state senators in Indiana. The Republican Party is a mafia organization and the mob boss is angry.

Personally, ACA subsidies are the best thing to control cost to patient at the present moment and in a system that’s profit driven. IMO would be interesting to see what the impact of making health insurance operators not-for-profit similar to Germany.
I hope the Dems realize that if they extend the ACA subsidies, and take no other steps, they are giving carte blanche to the biggest insurance companies and major hospital systems to find new ways to game the system and increase costs.

watershed moment for college football: it has become the newest culture war item subjected to foreign interference

Welp I had about a days worth of sympathy for Notre Dame and then went full victim card
Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua:

"We had one of the most dominant 10-game runs in the history of college football."

Bowls and the BCS were better from a fan post season perspective and were the reason you had coaches staying pat for a decade +. Unless the playoff expands to 24 and allows conference champs an auto-bid then you won’t ever capture the magic of winning the conference and a fun postseason.

The playoff has taken all the fun out the CFB postseason. The BCS Bowl were fun and everyone still viewed that accomplishment as bragging rights. It was fun to travel to a bowl game (even if it wasn’t a big one). The CFP is taking away what made CFB memorable.
I have memory of more than the last decade, I can tell you right now that the two-team BCS was better than the playoff, and the 14 hour orgy of great football that started at 11am God's Time on New Year's Day and ended close to midnight was the closest humanity has come to touching the hand of God.

I’m old enough to remember when everybody knew that a second loss (and often a first) had irrevocably tanked your season and all this bellyaching makes me think maybe we should get back to that
I thought an 8-team playoff would've been enough, I don't support going past 12, but one way or another, now that we're to a place where undefeated teams do not get left out, the only answer to any playoff 'snub' whining is "damn, you probably should've just won all your games"

So, BYU was penalized for getting blown out in its conference championship game (dropped one spot). Which allowed Miami to move up and get compared directly to Notre Dame.

But Alabama was not penalized for getting blown out in its conference championship game.

This is the worst selection committee we've ever had.

Cannot believe Alabama didn't even drop one spot after the SEC title game blowout. Cannot believe they waited until the final reveal to flip Miami-ND. Could have done it at ANY point.

Not having bama slip to a 10 spot is crazy to me.
The weekly rankings releases really are such a sham. I don't have that strong a take on Miami over Notre Dame but letting Bama get off scot-free for that disgrace yesterday is bordering on unbelievable

It’s actually hilarious hearing Manny Diaz and Duke being forced to talk about “what this win means for your playoff resume.”
