San Francisco teachers’ union voted 99.34% to authorize a strike today.

It was the first of two required votes for SFUSD teachers to initiate a walkout.

San Francisco teachers say they’re “pushed to the edge” — one more vote remains before a walkout is possible.

While millions of families struggle to put food on the table Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos & Mark Zuckerberg own more wealth than the bottom HALF of Americans.

That’s what oligarchy is about. That’s what a rigged economy is about.

Is it any wonder that people in this country are angry?

Tucson residents fought back against Amazon’s secretive plans to build a data center in the desert — and won.

But now, in a blatant attempt to override the City Council and the will of the people, Amazon and the project’s developer is pushing ahead anyway.

Last month, I officially launched my campaign for City Council! Our leaders simply refuse to address the housing crisis with the urgency it deserves. We can make LA more affordable, walkable, and beautiful, we just need to make it legal to do so.

tell that to the cotton gin
I don't think that's inherently the best case, it's just that anything better requires technological development, not just redistribution alone

Socialism is the democratic control of your workplace allowing you to actually have a say in when you start and when you end; mechanization occurs regardless of economic superstructure.
Bluntly: you don't want socialism, you want robots doing the work so you can have more time for what we can broadly call "leisure."

There is nothing wrong per se with this desire, but intellectual honesty requires we admit that as it stands socialism will probably involve the same "get up at 7 am."

The reason so many normie dems on here are mad at this is because the GOP has called everything socialism for 50 years. It has no bite any more. Both of them think “whenever the government does something, that is socialism!”

But socialism is worker ownership of all industries. And that is good.
BREAKING: The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

Eighty-six Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

All too often, when parents can’t afford safe housing, the solution child welfare services offer is putting their children in foster care.
