The Constitution requires, point blank, that the Treasury provide a detailed accounting of all government spending to Congress
Something that's just occurred to me is how are they going to account for these payments when the shutdown ends? Like, if they act as if these were part of regular paid salaries, you're going to see some soldiers bring claims of "No, that was a private gift, pay my full wages on top of that please".

Remember, the Speaker has absolute control over every piece of legislation in the House, so he can always negotiate anything. EXCEPT a Discharge Petition. Grijalva will sign the DC, and force the Epstein files bill to the floor. As another Skeeter pointed out, this is the Epstein Shutdown.
KARL: I mean, you could swear in Adelita Grijalva tomorrow, right?

MIKE JOHNSON: No, not tomorrow. We couldn't. We wouldn't.

The intro repeating her name became iconic, but “I was embarrassed,” she said later. “I didn’t like anybody saying my name over. I said, ‘I gotta live with this.’”

A “blind trust” is pretty much the opposite of what Trump and his kids are doing
Q: On the dinner, you mentioned this is not a WH dinner, but the president is always the president & the Trump family is making money off this. So how is this not POTUS using the office to enrich himself?

Trump and RFK Jr. say today's kids are "the sickest generation in American history." Is that just a feeling? Here are some facts:
About 46% of children born in the U.S. in 1800 did not live to see their 5th birthday. In 1900, the figure was 24%. Now it's under 1%.
