The thing about the relentless march of time is that you only get an ending (happy or otherwise) in fiction. Here in the real world no cause is ever lost forever even though we may not live to see it prevail. This is both hope and cautionary tale.
"This fucking sucks" and "all is lost" are two different sentences.

Don't say the second when you mean the first.

Unless you take a hammer
And mean it when you swing.

I would say tugtupite is more pink than red, but it's reindeer blood so I'm calling it close enough to Red vs Blue again.

May the best mineral lose.

(And you should read Time War!)

I was going to write a short story about Santa's reindeer banding together to create #tugtupite in an effort to destroy eldritch abomination Rudolph (bioluminescence is not normal among reindeer) but having now read about Tutu the reindeer girl's love for her child, how could I beat that? #MinCup25

neck and neck in biggest match of #MinCup25 so far!
I like the cubes perovskite forms but a lot of the arguments to vote for it are for its family of structures, not the mineral!
calcite is a mineral that I can't believe has never won, given its abundance of colours and forms!
#MinCup25 Round 1 Match 4: This match of heavy hitters is bound to end in heartbreak as classic #calcite faces off against futuristic #perovskite.

We love them both, but only one can continue on to Round 2!

@craigschaeferbooks.com hi Heather, I wanted to let you know that there's an error signing up for your mailing list. I've tried twice and haven't received activation emails.

Related, the link to join the mailing list in Firebreak is broken. There's an extra . at the end.

Happy 2025!! Since this new year ends in -5, I've decided to think about my yearly goals in terms of five things each month:

• bake 5 things
• learn 5 new words
• track down and destroy 5 orbs of dark wizardry
• spend 5 hours knitting
• exchange 5 love letters with the wizard whose orbs I destroyed

2.) this is not the kind of game you lose
3.) it is your turn. pick a rule. and change it

today's affirmation:

I am a stone standing in the desert. they call me monolith but I am not alone. my sandsmoothed surface tells stories in forgotten tongues. I speak of stars that no longer shine. I speak of bodies which are now dust. my shadow does not move as it should. I do not bow to this sun
