It took me twenty years of effort, at roughly twenty to forty hours per week of practice, to attain the skill level necessary to accurately transfer what was in my head to paper.
In my childhood I was regularly beaten for the compulsion.

even though i have been on medication for my ADHD before, i don't know how to begin to explain to someone else (from my subjective experience) that medication is not a magic bullet and that there is work that can be done outside of it. that mindset seems very rigid to me, very limiting.
