people who talk about going to No Kings protests in terms of how to avoid getting kettled or black-bagged are Blue Sky’s version of men who talk about how they won’t go to a large city without a handgun and seventeen personal defense items

MS layoffs and Diddy acquitted on the same day. The worst chuds you know are all celebrating.

Condolences to everyone impacted by the Microsoft layoffs. There's a silver lining though - hold on to your MS stock or buy as much as you can, because it's going to go through the roof.

I guess the upside of this app is that I have seen very little Diddy apologia.

I hope seeing Kilmar Abrego Garcia alive will convince some of you to stop preemptively declaring people dead. I know it comes from a place of fear, but cynicism and pessimism can demobilize people and lead folks to give up before a fight is lost. Let's not seed that attitude.

Look, I know people here love their libraries, and I don't wanna be a buzzkill, but can we maybe consider that physical libraries have outlived their usefulness? Just put it all online.
Okay, I’m hoping this will gain some traction on Bluesky *inhales* SALEM PUBLIC LIBRARY IN OREGON IS IN DANGER OF CLOSING. This sets a dangerous precedent for state capital libraries!!

This is a continuation of the saga from last year, when we were saved at the last second by the then-mayor. (1/2)

Guys, that obviously wasn't a Nazi salute... no need to be alarmist when there's real threats we're facing.

I’m supposed to have this tribal hatred of Liz Cheney despite her sacrificing her career to fight the one threat I care most about. And I’m supposed to have this tribal loyalty to leftists who continually refusal to do the absolute bare minimum and support a liberal Dem against that threat. Nah.

No, they're a painfully outdated relic of a time before the internet. I have childhood nostalgia about libraries too but that's no reason to keep them around when we could just subsidize Kindles. Kids just don't care about paper books anymore!
Libraries are pure magic. They’re more than books—they’re portals to other worlds, safe havens for curious minds, and the heart of every community. Whether it’s a cosy corner to read or a digital catalogue full of endless adventures, libraries have it all. Support yours today

Yes, this is what all forms of health insurance do. This is why Medicare and Medicaid and Canadian Medicare and the NHS and every other insurance system on the planet regularly deny people care, resulting in deaths. It’s really tough and the US private system is particularly wasteful and unfair.
"has to make decisions about sick people" lmao
I have no idea if Brian Thompson was a nice dude but he wasn’t a mass murderer. He was a high-ranking executive in an industry that has to make decisions about sick people and has a pretty lousy track record of doing so. A good way to see this is asking how many “murders” his killing prevents.

Yes it’s almost like this is an inherent feature of all modern healthcare! And that by promising people you’ll reform the system to eliminate these things you are writing a check you cannot cash
most american healthcare systems deny many procedures and otherwise ration care

In an alternate universe where the USA has universal health care, a right wing Luigi Mangione killed a government bureaucrat for denying claims. Conservatives say he was watering the tree of liberty, leftists are horrified at their casual disregard for human life.

Sometimes I wonder whether people want good outcomes in health care or whether they just want a particular system. I don't necessarily want universal health care, I want health care that's low cost and accessible to everyone. If universal health care gets us there, great. But will it?

What's up with all this library propaganda this app is showing me? It isn't 1992 anymore. Only universities need one, and only for books that haven't been digitalized.
If you’re up for getting the revolution started, meet me in the library. 😊🤞🦋

I really don't see why we need libraries. This whole business could be replaced with a Kindle.
Destroy this myth. Please share if you have visited and researched in a library this past year! RT And give a shout out to your favorite library you have ever visited.
