If we want to get serious about addressing declining literacy rates in the US, we gotta stop shaming people for what and how they read. Speaking as someone who has personally struggled, shame is a sure fire way to kill any enthusiasm and curiosity toward reading, which kills any ambition to learn.

i’m curled up into bed; from my window come small wisps of chill breeze that dance on what little exposed skin it can gets its tendrils on, on my desktop plays smosh for the fourth hour this day, and my cat begs desperately for attention as all of me focuses entirely on reading anna karenina instead
