I have to disagree with Bono that "America is the best idea the world ever came up with". It's not even close to the idea of democratic socialism in European countries. They have what Americans can only dream of, universal health care, free education, five to six weeks annual vacations, etc.

I have some friends that worked on it & apparently it was unfettered access to the worst people behaving badly & without filter (racist senators, Melania’s boyfriend drama, infighting, etc) so a good portion of that $40 million might just be hush money to insure the raw footage never escapes.

Socialist Rosa Luxemburg argued that humanity stood at a crossroads: either transition to socialism or regress into a new form of barbarism. It looks like that time is here where the Western political class normalized the mass slaughter of civilians.

The radical right *is* rising across much of Europe. But the narrative that young people are leading the charge is overblown.
Gen Z is turning away from mainstream parties, but often the beneficiaries are left-insurgents like England's Greens, France's LFI, or Germany's Linke.

The Greens are winning the support of around half of 18 to 24 year olds.
Reform are on 5%. So much for young people's turn to the right!
