I expected a cute little phone game about #climate and emissions reductions, and I was wrong. The sheer number of interconnected policies, infrastructure, research options and political allies / foes is daunting and impressive!

I don’t think people understand how devastating the end of net neutrality, and consumer protections around internet connectivity, are going to be. Imagine the situation where you pay for 4 or 5 different streaming services, each with different “exclusives” — but for the Internet itself.

This story has some issues that I find infuriating but in general the answer to why oil companies are just shrugging and doing more oil is because they are very rich and powerful and no government has decided to stop them

House Republicans actually voted today to block the US Senate from receiving their report containing sworn witness testimony and documentary evidence about the nominee for Attorney General of the United States paying a child $10,000 for sex.

I think we underestimate how much of Republicans' signaling and decision-making is based not only on political expedience, but literal fear that angering Trump and his followers will endanger their — and their families'— safety.

The G20 has removed language calling for the "transition away from fossil fuels," agreed on at COP28, from its leaders' statement in Rio.
