in fact you do not have to show your ID when you board a train in the united states, you only need to show your ticket (which can be purchased without an ID)

one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things

every person who is adopted is a person who has undergone and experienced family separation. the fact that Western culture valorizes #adoption as a system for family creation cannot alter this fact, though it does create a taboo against acknowledging it and against hearing dissenting voices.

my coworker who grew up in Ukraine asked me about my ethnicity. When i told her about it, & about how it was hidden from me for 40 years, & about how i have a relationship with my bio mother but not my bio father, her expression grew sad & she said “secrecy is a cage people lock themselves into.” 🥚
