Embroidery journal history/FAQ

My embroidery journal started out as a personal thing that I shared on locked social media. But since moving here to Bluesky, where locked isn’t an option, I’ve had a lot of new people seeing the journal and I thought a thread on it might be helpful.
Embroidery journal: It was a Pizza Hut for dinner night, because I finished my re-read of the Discworld series, and as a millennial, large reaching reading goals requires Pizza Hut.

This is identical to Russia invading Ukraine. Illegally invading a country for their resources and likely killing thousands—if not more—is immoral and should not be supported by anyone with any shred of moral conscience.

One of the things I emphasize to people that has informed my politics for basically my entire life is that I am a (practicing) Catholic. Hell is a real place where you will really go if you don’t, you know, respect the dignity of your fellow man
You do not fear hell enough

everything obviously wrong with this is obvious, of course, but I’m also struck by like ….. the terror of the silence of your own mind?? humans have prayed, contemplated, meditated in the search for wisdom (whether inner or divine) for our whole history. an app can’t meditate FOR you!

E.G., if your position is something other than "people have a right to migrate" "asylum is a human right" "our society has an obligation to welcome the stranger" "every human deserves the full protection of the law" then you are not in accord with Catholic teaching and you better fix your soul!

Good reporting and analysis here from @heidischlumpf.bsky.social. What still feels lacking to me is an emphasis on Catholic doctrine, not just emotions. The Church's teaching has a LOT to say about what justice requires when it comes to respecting immigrants' human rights. I want them to teach it.
