Proud to say that this bundle contains the most toxic, self-sabotaging, and unwisely catty lesbians that @tpwrtrmnky.bsky.social and I could conceive of:

- all of RCBG, in one place
- Patreon-exclusive shenanigans
- And the preview of the upcoming novelization, thrown in for good measure :)
Welcome to Toxic Yuri November! That's not a thing, you say? Well, now it is. Our new bundle is just $15 for TWENTY-FOUR titles, all united by everyone's favorite theme: terrible, no-good, dangerous lesbians.

So the "Her own loved ones" line gets me there, because it precisely is the line that is used to get trans people and gay people in patterns of minimal acceptance that can cause a lot of self-harm. It's a pattern of abuse that is hard to identify because it's done under the guise of acceptance.

I mean the hardline version of that is essentially what you see in this "My husband is not gay" TV show: people "accepting" that someone is a homosexual, but hey, that shouldn't stop them from living a normal straight life, right?

They think if queer people made an effort, they could just "fit in", be "normal", and they want to push their kids toward what they perceive this "normalcy" to be, which is often a life where you are as little queer as humanly possible.

These families have often never had to code switch. They've never had to use cultural subtext to navigate life. They live in the "What you see is what you get" of heterosexuality, and do not care to learn that other people have to live differently.

A part of this actually echoes with practices that were set in the transmedicalist era, where trans people were more or less ordered not to hang out with or seek to meet other trans people, that they do not become "one of the bad ones".

Accepting parents are great, better than non-accepting ones for sure, but they are still themselves and they can very easily slip into a "Let's tolerate minimal change until my child wakes up from this delusion" mentality.

People also take offence when told that their child has a right to privacy, and in some cases, that their child's carer, in the case of a therapist or a doctor for instance, has a confidentiality duty with their patients. You can't go about demanding summaries of your kid's therapy sessions.

Similarly, if a "child" (once again stressing that in this context the "child" is an adult, we're talking about people in their 20s) is in contact with a trans org, it is not rare for their parent to want to monitor and filter what the "child" has the right to receive as far as information.

child should have the right to ask for or not. I once heard a woman who must have been 21 get told by her parent "Well it's no use asking about [a certain feminising surgery you can get on your hips] because Mommy said no".

As an example, and this is a situation that happened several times in front of me: a trans woman in her early 20s is accompanied by her parent, very often her mother because they are the ones being delegated with this by the fathers, at a surgeon's office, where they weigh in on what their adult

There's a tendency in trans people's parents, when they are accepting, to still want an exaggerate amount of control on their kid's life. I'm not talking about the regular amount of oversight any young person requires, in fact most of the cases I am thinking about right now concern people over 20.

"Take the phone away" is the first item on the list of action recommended by anti-trans parents' orgs.
Do you not think it's bizarre to have strangers on the internet decide they know better than Brianna's own loved ones on what is or isn't insulting to her memory?

I've got no time for Rosie Duffield, but she turned up at a drop-in event in Parliament and that's been the limit of her involvement.

Its so condescending of you to presume that you or Esther Ghey - who deadnames her own daughter - know better than trans people what they need to be safe.

Had Brianna been one of the many, many trans young ppl who died by suicide, the phone thing *might* make some sense.

But she was murdered.

As much as we love & support & fight for her rights, as cis parents we will never truly, fully understand. Thats why we listen to her, but also to trans adults who have been where our daughter is and how we can better support her. 2/

I'm the parent of a trans teen a year younger than Brianna should be. She's been beaten, spat on, outed & bullied out of school. By children who have grown up surrounded by toxic transphobia. She didnt leave the house for over 2 yrs - her online trans friends were the ONLY ppl who understood 1/

It's not right that people who merely have a medical degree and an opinion should have arbitrary access to personal medical data of trans patients without having to show to those patients that they are conducting research in good faith.

It's right that trans people should be able to refuse to be subjects in research being conducted with an aim of reducing their options in life, reducing their comfort and wellbeing.

Should they be able to gather data proving that affirmation leads to those young trans ppl developing stable trans identities while casting this stability and relative benefits in mental health as a dangerous side effect of making there be more trans people in the world? (This has happened!)

Let's say (I'm sure you can imagine the scenario):

Anti trans activists in healthcare have been waging witch hunts against trans affirming healthcare. Should they be able to find out which patients are getting support?

Traditionally it's been considered important to get research consent from research subjects in medicine because if you can bypass subject consent you can conduct research that's not in their best interests. Which is precisely the problem everyone's been raising about it.

This research methodology - accessing medical records of trans minors without their consent - was made legal in UK only by a special act of government to carry out similar research here under the previous Tory government. It would have been illegal but for the government changing the law.

Would just like to point out that Anna Waehre, the researcher here mentioned as guilty of grievous research ethics violations targeting trans minors was a panelist in a SEGM conference last year with a large number of other abuse apologists.

De gjennomførte forskningsprosjektet likevel.
