Widowed and nonbinary. I talk a lot about Star Trek, Ohio, cats, dinosaurs, and whatever I’m watching. The Columbus Dispatch once called me a “local cartoonist and customer-service rep.” (They/Them)

Hi new followers, here’s what you’re in for:
Weird bits of late-20th century nonsense from Columbus, Ohio (a city that’s as much a sitcom town as Springfield or Pawnee).
A fair amount of Star Trek talk.
Rambling about what I’m reading/watching/playing.
I write and post a poem every day.
Cat photos.

Every time someone’s like “put that in the louvre,” my head now goes “and then steal it from the louvre, the security password is louvre”

Somehow the cat managed to wedge himself under me while we were sleeping. Which I think makes me a weighted blanket.

I’m watching a Columbus Neighborhoods episode on Olentangy Park, my favorite local amusement park that closed 42 years before I was born. Next year I need go to Zoombezi Bay to ride the coaster. I’m not a waterpark person, but I’d pay admission just for that bit of history.

STAR TREK SAVED THE WHALES
Another species no longer on the global Endangered list:
Humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae).
A few decades after a Star Trek movie where the central conflict was the total extinction of the humpback, their numbers are rising fast enough to put them at "Least Concern" on the IUCN Red List.

There is way too much happening in this animated movie about time traveling turkeys attempting to change the menu of the first Thanksgiving.
And also what?
And furthermore, WHAT?!

This morning’s exchange with a stranger in the Aldi parking lot—
“You have a car?!”
“I… do have a car.”
“I just see you walking everywhere. I guess you just use your car for groceries. Good for you.”
Apparently I am recognized/have a reputation in the neighborhood. And it is mostly true.
