And a large part of why they tend to be an existential threat: they don't have any real beliefs (it's just vibes and whatever talking point), and they can't really wrap their heads around why people care about the general well-being of others or the fact that other people DO have sincere beliefs.
part of this is like, conservatives projecting; part of this is conservatives unable to imagine politics without money; and part of this is dudes who are so out of touch with feminized labor that they think children's birthday parties exist as a spontaneous act of parthogenesis
