West Coast numbers are coming in, and estimates have now surpassed 5 million. People are still pouring into the streets—nearly 2% of the American population is rising up. America, we are so proud of you. You did it.

It’s been a busy 36 hours! From a walk in yesterday morning at my school to speaking at the Adams 12 Five Star Schools board meeting last night with the facts to a rally at the Colorado Capitol today, we were busy fighting for public education! ✊ A cut is a cut, + our students are paying the price.

Disturbing: Almost, if not 100%, of U.S. Department of Education's Office of General Counsel has been "laid off."

That's the Department's lawyers.

Remember: If unions didn’t matter, powerful corporations wouldn’t spend millions of dollars every year to stop them from forming. Keep up the fight.

Dozens of school leaders urge Colorado House speaker to adopt new funding formula despite error
Superintendents and other leaders penned a letter to House Speaker Julie McCluskie arguing that “political maneuvering” should not thwart the new formula

As a journalist who covers extremism at the local level, I think it’s a mistake to view Trump’s Napoleonic statement as solely about presidential power. Consider if it’s interpreted as a wink and a nod for any extremist to act outside the law to “save” the country as they see fit

Don’t just say DEI as if it’s a bad word. Spell it out.

Say diversity, which is the lifeblood of American society & culture & innovation.

Say equity, which a just society should pursue.

Say inclusion, because decent people believe in increasing belonging, not isolating people who are different.
